The Serpent Seed Doctrine

The base of the Serpent Seed Doctrine is Satan had sex with Eve and they produced a child Cain.

It’s worth noting that during this post, and as I always do, this will be one sided (for the most part.) This doesn’t mean that I agree or disagree, it just means that I present the debate from one side. Maybe I’ll present good counter arguments in future blog posts.

Let’s dive in.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Who is the serpent? In Revelation 12:9 the names of Satan are listed.

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan has many names, including serpent.

Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Here we have one of those verses that requires interpretation. Is it talking of a literal tree and literal fruit? As bible students we know many metaphors are used and it’s possible fruit and tree are metaphors. The first clue is why are Adam and Eve forbidden to even touch the fruit? Eating it is one thing, but touching it? I think this is a clue that fruit and tree are metaphors. The Hebrew word is naga`, which has a vague definition but seems that it can mean to touch for any reason, even sexually.

Gen 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Gen 3:5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

So now we have Satan pulling his first and oldest trick. According to Paul in 2nd Corinthians the serpent beguiled Eve. Let’s take a look.

2Cr 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.

2Cr 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The word beguiled is exapataō in the Greek is an interesting one. A few years ago when I looked this up online in the Strong’s Concordance it meant “wholly seduced.” Currently when you look it up it says it means to deceive. (I would like to hear an ancient Greek scholar weigh in.)

Note that in 2Cr 11:2 Paul wants to present one as a chaste virgin to Christ. Interesting that he would bring up a sexual reference, almost to say the subject is virginity and then in 11:3 he mentions the serpent and Eve. If we take beguiled as meaning sexually seduced, then we can say that Paul wants to present one as a chaste virgin unlike Eve who was seduced by Satan.

Gen 3:6      And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

First let’s look at the word tree, Hebrew word `ets, then look at it’s etymology. It’s root word is `atsah which means to shut. Here is how it’s used.

Pro 16:30  He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

The word shutteth is `atsah. Satan is telling Eve that the fruit from the tree will open her eyes. No, it will shut them and Satan is the one who closes your eyes. There is a sister word to `ets, Hebrew word `atseh which means spine, backbone, os sacrum. I believe there is reason to suspect the tree is talking about Satan himself. Eve saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, she found Satan good looking. We have to keep in mind that Satan was an angel, so he’s probably a beautiful being — not someone with horns and a red tail.

Does God call people trees?

Isa 61:3      To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Here is another interesting verse.

Isa 60:21      Also your people [shall] all [be] righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.

So moving along in Genesis.

Gen 3:7      Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

When they ate the fruit they covered their private parts; they didn’t cover their mouths. They made aprons to cover where they had partaken of their sin.

Gen 3:14      So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You [are] cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.
Gen 3:15      And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

Gen 3:16      To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire [shall be] for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

Here god is going to put enmity between Eve and Satan’s seed. Then in 3:16 conception is mentioned. Seed, conception, this goes hand-in-hand with child birth and sexual procreation.

Gen 3:17  Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed [is] the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat [of] it All the days of your life.

Adam ate of the same tree that Eve did.

Gen 4:1  Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the LORD.”
Gen 4:2  Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

The word again in Hebrew is yacaph and means to add, increase, do again. The idea is Cain and Abel were twins. She gave birth to Cain then continued and gave birth to Abel. They were not identical twins and not from the same conception. They had different fathers, Satan and Adam. My understanding is this is very possible and there have even been cases where twins were of different races.

Gen 4:3      And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD.
Gen 4:4     Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering,

In the process of time Cain and Abel hit the age of accountability where they had to give offerings. These two verses seem to indicate they both hit the age of accountability at the same time. Why? Because they’re twins.

Further evidence is in the Adam’s geneology.

Gen 5:1  This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

Gen 5:2       He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.
Gen 5:3      And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

Notice how Cain is not mentioned in Adam’s genealogy, and Cain has his own Genealogy in Genesis 4:17.

Now lets look at some supporting bible verses outside of Genesis.

Jhn 8:41      You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father–God.”
Jhn 8:42      Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

Here in John 8:42 Jesus states he came from God, God is his father. He also makes the claim that God is not their father. Who then is their father?

Jhn 8:43       Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
Jhn 8:44      You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar and the father of it.

They are from their father the devil. He was the murderer from the beginning. Who committed the first murder? Cain did. They are offspring of Cain who is offspring of the Devil.

Jhn 8:45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

I just think that last verse is interesting.

Next is Matthew 13, the parable of the sower. In Mark 4:13 Jesus told his disciples that if they don’t understand this parable they won’t understand any parables.

Mar 4:13      And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

During another blog post I’ll discuss the parable of the sower.

Wow! Great job! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful documentation. Have you ever studied with Pastor Arnold Murray? He is with Shepherd’s Chapel and teaches the same way.
    Thank you again!

Yes, this also is a great teaching. Now, I have heard this for the FOURTH time. Many reverends, pastors and others SHOULD learn ARAMAIC & HEBREW and they would be able to teach much better. English to Roman to Greek to HEBREW & ARAMAIC is the answer in helping people to know what the scriptures tell us. I thank-you for revealing TRUTH !!!

one question – if eve eat from the fruit of tree (had sex with satan) and if she gave adam to eat of the same fruit from the same tree (satan) does that mean that adam had sex with satan as well. question leading from this question – was satan male, female or both if he was both – does that mean that satan also bore a child whose father was adam. another question – if the bible in its consistency always mentioned that someone Knew (had sex) someone before someone was begotten, then why did it not state that the tree knew eve and sge begat cain.

if after commiting a sexual sin with satan, they felt ashamed because og their knowledge of their sin, why will adam still say that he got a child from the LORD.

I am concerned that the analysis concludes that Satan was the father of Cain in any literal sense. Regardless of WHO the birth father is, Jesus mentioned the spiritual father as being the identifier in his eyes.
He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
    John 8:46
Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
    John 8:55
Here we see Jesus affirming the heritage of the Jews being from Abraham, from Adam’s seed, while at the same time calling them a liar, of Satan.
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
    Luke 8:44
So clearly Jesus separates the physical recognition of hertage from the spiritual.
    He does it often.
Both Matthew, Mark and Luke have the following passage roughly.
1And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.”
Again Jesus is speaking metaphorically about the Kingdoms manifestation. What people saw wasn’t earth ruled by Angels, but a spiritual impact.

You are correct in your understanding of the first sin, and I read another article on sex in the Kingdom, and I wondered if you have ever thought about the true nature of the Bride of Christ? Or the true nature of the Body of Christ? It ties in well with God having known us from before the foundation of the earth. A passage from Enoch says, “we will eat, lie down, and rise up with the Son of Man for evermore.”

I am intrigued with the doctrine not only because it is the best explanation of portions of scripture that have to present been meaningless or enshrouded in controversy or mystery. I lean towards this doctrine because of my own personal sexual experiences and proclivities as well. I see a trend that coincides with what scripture says that Adam and Eve experienced in their exploits with the Serpent. Not to mention there are countless references to sexual impurity and uncleaness and adultery in physical and spiritual connotations. I also always wondered why such painstaking attention to detail was made regarding the geneologies of the bible and why it was SO important. Many denominational and religious leaders tend to follow their proffessors and not the Holy Spirits guiding. In my opinion that may be an engineered result of indoctrination in the Ivory towers. Whatever the case may be I find it frustrating that more can’t be discussed openly but rather that this topic is suppressed and vilified as if it could steal the believers birthright.

I find another obscure passage fits with the doctrine and that is found in Numbers 5:15. A ritual cleansing ceremony that brings with it a curse if the woman involved is truly adulterous. It says that it is an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance….. If a woman is caught in adultery she would certainly not need remembrance of her deed. It is speaking I think of the original sin committed by the first woman against her husband. Not to mention the curse and prophesy given in Genesis 3:15.

God is just and fair. His punishment fits the crime. If it were just a matter of disobedience to God’s word, why did He curse her conception? Why did he have to put her desire back to her husband and tell her that he will rule over her? Why did they hide their private parts and hide at all because of their nakedness? So many things in their behavior point to a shame of a perverted sexual act. My opinion but I know what it is to be ashamed after having sex with a stranger.

It is also my contention that Adam had sex with Satan as well. There are many studies that talk about homosexuality being not only a learned trait but that it has some genetic aspects as well and certain men are more prone to this sexuality. And it is a common trend in many pornographic movies. Men not only watching other men with their partners but also joining in a bi sexual trist. These are common human experiences with in our humanity. They have always been a reality and only serve to solidify my belief in this doctrine. Not only this but those that followed Satans lead are spoken of in Genesis 6. It is not a stretch to think that this is the plain truth of scripture. To me, it is plainly evident in the relational aspects of our human experience and give credence and validity to this teaching.
